Job description

Nicholas Scott is working with a top US law firm who is in urgent need of an experienced Employment lawyer with UK corporate support experienceto join their prestigious team initially on a 6-month Fixed-term contract .

This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic, creative, and collaborative team placed at the very forefront of the market.

The team’s primarily but not sole function is to support the firm’s main practice areas, these principally being the corporate team (private equity) but also their corporate M&A practice which will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work on more than just PE deals but also undertake broader corporate work.

The team also receives work from other sources including their market-leading and very strong restructuring and private funds teams. This work involves the hiring and firing of investment professionals and senior executives of portfolio companies.

You will work very closely with the Litigation team and receive a reasonably good diet of work, including from time-to-time some interesting investigations work. Although the role is primarily a transaction support one, it is a role that would suit a lawyer who likes doing deals, with work that is quite broad and interesting. 65-70% of the role involves working on deals.

Given this, any submitted applicant must understand this as well as having experience of working on the due diligence aspect of deals, service/settlement agreements related to deals, looking at SPA and marking up warranties.

You will be exposed to training and mentoring which is unrivalled and the role will also command a highly desirable salary and benefits package starting at GBP 220,000 pro rata. You will also be able to take advantage of the firm’s hybrid work scheme.

You will have excellent academics with experience in a leading, well-regarded employment practice.
