A global institutional alternative asset management firm is looking for a Corporate Lawyer to join the Ex-US Corporate Legal Team in a twelve (12) month maternity cover role. The successful candidate will be required to support and work under the primary supervision of the Managing Director and Legal Counsel, actively assist in all areas of ex-US corporate work and work closely with other members of the Legal and Compliance Department globally to support business groups across the Firm.

Responsibilities include:

•Drafting all corporate governance documentation 

•Performance of UK and HK company secretarial role

•Reviewing and negotiating various HR related agreements

•Drafting and reviewing policies and procedures

•Providing assistance in a variety of management entity matters

•Establishing and maintaining trading relationships

•Reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts and other miscellaneous contracts and other agreements entered into by in conjunction with the operation of the Firm’s business

•Assist in a variety of other day-to-day matters faced by in-house counsel to a sizeable global investment management business

Requirements:

•Qualification as a solicitor/lawyer. Minimum 4 years PQE experience (with in-house counsel experience preferred)

•Real-time ability to interpret laws and regulations and apply them to the Firm’s business

•General corporate experience and good working knowledge of general company and employment law

•Familiarity with dealing with issues arising in other jurisdictions (particularly Hong Kong and Ireland) and liaising with non-UK legal counsel

•Good knowledge of regulatory landscape surrounding investment management business

•Strong drafting and negotiation skills

•Ability to work as a member of a team

•Willingness to take on new responsibilities and take initiative for new projects • Good organisation and time management skills
