Job description

We are seeking a mid-level solicitor to join our leading Finance Team in Sydney, covering corporate structured and asset finance transactions.

Our Structured and Asset Finance team has extensive experience advising on transactions in all sectors of the asset finance industry. Our client base includes banks, financiers, airlines, lessors, manufacturers, captive finance companies, operators, borrowers, lessees, export credit agencies and governmental and international organisations. We advise on both domestic and cross-border asset financings including all types of debt, lease (both tax and non-tax based) and capital markets driven products, securitisations, receivables financings, vendor programmes and retail finance.

In this role, you will work with leading Partners John Angus and Steven Catanzariti, together with the asset finance teams in Australia and Asia.

You will also have the opportunity to work with other pre-eminent Partners and senior lawyers across the wider Finance, Real Estate and Corporate practice groups. You will gain excellent client exposure and opportunities to develop a network of relationships. To be successful in this role, you will have;

  • Experience in finance transactions (asset and/or structured finance experience preferred by not essential) from a top tier, Australian or international private practice environment;

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Detail-focused and self-motivated approach

  • Excellent client relationship skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to develop and work in a fast paced, intellectually rigorous environment

  • An excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset;

  • Admitted to practice in Australia.
