KMPG Hire New Legal Services Ambassador

6th November 2019

KPMG have appointed Christina Blacklaws, a former president of the Law Society from July 2018 to July 2019, as a strategic advisory ambassador for their legal services department.

The Big Four accountancy firm is developing their legal practice offerings and thus now have a team of 120, which Blacklaws will be joining part-time. She will be working on client solutions, supporting women in love and leadership and developing legal innovation strategies and talent engagement initiatives.

Two of Blacklaws' main priorities during her time as Law Society president was to empower women in the legal profession and to drive social mobility, innovation and sustainable legal practices. Blacklaws has stated, 'We're operating in an increasingly challenging business environment, but, equally, it is an exciting time of growing enlightenment: we all know our sector needs to evolve to best support our clients and our colleagues alike'.

Regarding this appointment, KMPG's UK head of legal services, Nick Roome, has said ,'Our team is a fast-growing specialism within KMPG, with clients more frequently requiring integrated advisory solutions. We currently have a broad range of expertise across the legal spectrum but having Christina on board will give us another dimension. Her knowledge, expertise and ear-to-the-ground approach when it comes to the issues impacting our sector will help give us an additional edge in the market'.
