Linklaters achieve 20% female partnership for first time

14th 03 2019

Magic circle firm Linklaters has surpassed its gender equality targets for the second year in a row with females making up 33% of the latest partner cohort.

33 lawyers have been promoted to partner this year, of whom 11 are women. Most of the new female partners however are located outside of London. In the capital, only one of the 11 lawyers promoted is female.

The promotions will take effect from the 1st May. The firm will then have 20% of the firm’s overall partnership being female, for the first time.

Charlie Jacobs, senior partner and chairman, said:

The global nature of our 2019 partnership election demonstrates the firm’s truly global reach as well as breadth and depth of knowledge across multiple practice areas.

‘I am pleased to see that for the second year running as senior partner we have beaten our gender target again in electing at least 30% new female partners and there is still much more we are working on to build on this success.’
