Job description

​We are seeking a Mid-Level Solicitor to join our Sydney leading and award winning Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) team, who specialise in assisting clients on complex and strategic technology transactions, outsourcing deals, digital transformation projects, commercialisation of IP, and privacy and data protection matters, across Australia and Asia Pacific.

You will be working primarily with our leading Partners Kwok Tang and Peter Jones in Sydney, and our broader national Corporate / TMT teams across a variety of local and cross-border matters. Our TMT team has a large stand-alone practice and recent representative matters include cross-border technology transformations, hyper-scale cloud deals, digital infrastructure, outsourcing projects (both technology and business process), software licensing, telecommunications transactions, privacy and data protection, data monetisation, and commercial IP. You will also provide support on large corporate M&A transactions the firm is undertaking (for example, business separations or TSAs).

You will have the opportunity to work with clients across a range of industries including financial services, mining & resources, energy, industrials, pharmaceuticals, retail and telecommunications. 

​SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience across a range of TMT matters from a leading top tier, national or international private practice; or an in-house environment;

  • Prior technology transactions experience is essential;

  • Ideally have 3-5 years' legal experience, however we are open to considering candidates with more or less experience;

  • An excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset;

  • A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team;

  • An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously;

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team.
