Job description

Contax Law work exclusively with In House Legal Departments from the FTSE 50 to the FTSE 250 and they have an opportunity for a 3 to 5 years Qualified Commercial Lawyer to be based in the Bristol Office of their FTSE 5O client. The role will be working from home initially until the Bristol once offices reopen.

The main parts of your job:-

You’re accountable for:

·Legal lead for Consumer on complex matters providing quality and timely legal support and/or advice across Consumer’s devices, products, services and partnerships, including complex bids, in-life, partnering, strategy, disputes and procurement.

·Focus on legal transactional and commercial advisory work to senior stakeholders across Consumer including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Digital.

·Ensuring agreements which the company enters into do not breach relevant legislation. Preparing reports and interacting with to senior stakeholders to convey key issues succinctly and concisely.

·Keeping the Partnerships legal team Principal Lawyers and the Legal Director, Consumer Partnerships fully informed, as applicable, on key legal risks and opportunities and all other relevant strategic matters.

·Collaborating with the rest of the partnerships legal team and across Consumer and Group Legal.

 

Skills and Experience Needed:

·Knowledge of technology, the telecoms industry and convergence.

·Comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in which Consumer operates.

·Comfortable influencing/delivering strategically important projects.

·Ability to question intelligently, challenge rigorously and recommend – with sound business judgment- a course of action to a stakeholder.

·Excellent drafting, communication, stakeholder management and organisation.

·Strong team player.

·Ability to work under time pressure to demanding timescales.

·Self-motivated, proactive, optimistic, energetic, resilient, effective at prioritising and able to deal with multiple matters at the same time.

·Qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate in England + Wales and/or Scotland.

· 3 - 5 years PQE.

·In-house experience beneficial, but not essential
